└───────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────┘
This documentation explains how to quickly and easily get TurboEDIT
up and running.
This does NOT explain how to setup TurboEDIT with multinode BBS',
but if you run a multinode BBS, it shouldn't be too hard to figure
out how to setup TurboEDIT (see TEDIT.DOC).
This installation assumes that your BBS directory is "C:\BBS", and
that your TurboEDIT directory is "C:\BBS\TEDIT". If this is not cor-
rect, just change it as you go.
■» Uncompressing TurboEDIT
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
The following are step-by-step unpacking instructions:
∙» MD\BBS\TEDIT <enter>
∙» COPY TE150A.EXE C:\RA\TEDIT <enter>
∙» CD\BBS\TEDIT <enter>
∙» TE150A <enter>
∙» <enter> (at the prompt)
∙» DEL TE150A.EXE <enter>
∙» TESETUP <enter>
(modify the configuration as necessary, but most of the
defaults should suit your needs already)
■» Configuring your BBS software
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
Now, you would configure your BBS software to run the batch file
C:\BBS\TEDIT\TE.BAT when a user posts a message.
If you run one of the following BBS systems, we have provided sep-
arate detailed descriptions on how to install TurboEDIT, and con-
figure it to be used with your BBS system.
BBS System Refer to

RemoteAccess INS_RA.DOC
EzyCom INS_EZY.DOC
Synchronet INS_SYNC.DOC

■» If you use an unlisted BBS program
──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────
If you use a BBS program not listed above, the following may be of
use to you.
∙» Run your BBS' setup program, and locate the External Message
Editor path/filename configuration.
∙» Type: C:\BBS\TEDIT\TEPATH.BAT C:\BBS\TEDIT -PC:\BBS
∙» If your BBS program requires a large amount of memory, you may
need to enable swapping to Disk/XMS/EMS in your BBS' setup.
∙» If your BBS has an option such as "Old style MSGTMP" or
"QuickBBS style MSGTMP", this must be enabled.
If you manage to get TurboEDIT working smoothly with an unlisted
BBS program, and you'd like us to add a documentation for it
(INS_<yourbbs>.DOC), feel free to E-mail or Netmail us. Include a
snapshot of your BBS' message editor setup screen and any info
you'd like to share, and we'll include it with the next version of
TurboEDIT.
